Pettigrew, Ebenezer

Ebenezer Pettigrew (1783-1848) was the son of Charles Pettigrew (1744-1807) and his first wife Mary (Polly) Blount. Ebenezer spent one year enrolled in the University's preparatory school, then completed his education at Edenton Academy in 1804. He became a successful planter, was elected to the NC Senate for two terms (1809-10), and served in the US Congress from 1835 to 1837.
